I don't know about you but I love camping. It has been a long long time since I have been camping and the more I think about it it has probably been about 9 years since. I used to go a couple times every year from I was a young thing until around 12 years old with my neighbours. I would have went away on my summer holidays foreign for two weeks and then back to Ireland and off camping to Castlewellan Forest Park (above). Because I was so young, all I had to worry about was my clothes (which my best friend Joanne helped me organise) and my toothbrush.
Now, it is a completely different ball game as I am older now and so much more independent. I have seen people talking about hauling their whole make up bag with them while camping but I really think there is no point as after all, your completely embracing the outdoors. Taking my whole make up bag with different types of foundations, eye shadow palettes, 4 different types of mascara etc. is just so much hassle. Today, I am going to share with you my beauty must haves to take with me on my camping trips.
1. Clinique 3 Step Anti Blemish Solutions
My skin has always been a complete and utter pain in my ass so trying to find something that will help it has been a tough. I started to use these products and I absolutely love them. I don't have oily skin really, maybe the odd time around my t-zone but other than that my skin is as dry as a bone. I love the cleansing wash as it doesn't dry my skin out and it makes my skin feel so clean! The clarifying lotion is great also, and I can really see the difference in the pores on my nose which is one of the most detested areas of my skin. If I have any broken skin on my face it does sting slightly using this but it bearable. I don't use the anti blemish moisturiser as I am currently using a moisturiser that agrees with my skin and i love it.
2. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex
I received a luxury sample of this in a GWP and I fell in love with it straight away. I absolutely adore the texture of this product and I have definitely noticed a difference under my eyes where I suffer with dark circles. The gel-balm like texture feels so nourishing on my eye area and one thing I love is that it does not irritate my eyes due to their sensitivity. Being a luxury sample it is so handy as a travel size and you really only need a small amount so it lasts ages.
3. Garnier Moisture Match for Dry to Very Dry Skin
I will be very honest. I picked this moisturiser up on a whim as I was spending most of the time of a week down at my Granda's wake and funeral and I had no stuff with me so I picked this up in a local chemist and used it as my moisturiser. I absolutely love this. I wish that I had found it before hand as it just nourishes my skin. I usually use Lancome's Genefique Nutrics but I just wasn't for carrying a big jar around with me. I am now on my second tube of this moisturiser and I will continue using it. Such a nourishing cream and handy to carry in the tube.
4. Johnsons Face Care Facial Cleansing Wipes
My go to product for removing my make up! My holy grail. I don't care admitting to this product. Yes I work for a make up and skin care brand but I absolutely love these wipes and my skin loves them too. Quick solution and I can then cleanse my skin further using my face wash.
5. Bourjois CC Cream
I bought this product on a whim as I had seen so many bloggers raving about this so I thought - hey, why not! I bought a shade that is a bit yellow toned for my skin, but once my neck is bronzed in it is nice and gives a bit of colour meaning I have no need to bronze any of my face. With SPF in it also, I really can't complain as my skin is protected.
6. Lancome Blush Subtil 011
I was advised that due to the slight redness in my skin, I should not be using a pink blusher. I tried out this brown blusher and I absolutely adore it! I don't think I will ever buy another shade of Lancome blusher other than the shade 011 Brun Roche. I love this shade and it is such a lovely natural colour.
7. Maybelline Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara
My mum asked me to get a waterproof mascara for the time around my Granda's funeral and I picked up this one. I don't usually wear waterproof mascara but this one is good and isn't really hard to take off. I love also that it has a different brush for the lower lashes as I sometimes find that normal mascara brushes are too big for the lower eye area.
8. Estee Lauder Automatic Brow Pencil
I used to use the Double Wear Brow Pencil from Estee Lauder but when I figured out at a later stage that it wasn't the refillable one I changed to this one. After all, it will save me money in the end. At one end is the pencil and the other a brush to help shape your brows. Quick, simple and job done.
9. Maybelline Baby Lips
Hydrating and tinted.. what more could a girl want from a lip balm. Well that is exactly what these little beaut's do. They aren't sticky or greasy and they are just so perfect for the great outdoors. I love the Cherry Me shade (above) and I am really looking forward to the new Electro shades coming out.
10. Clarins Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate
I absolutely love this product. Essential oils will completely twist my arm and they really do make me relax myself. I am piled up full of stress and this together with my back injury has landed me with unbelievably sore muscles and the majority of the times I am unable to relieve it. This helps a good bit and allows me to relax with the scents. After a day of walking, cycling and playing about, this lovely shower concentrate allows me to relax, if even for 10mins and makes me feel better.
11. Natural Collection Pressed Powder
I see people buying dear powders for their make up everyday and I just don't want to ever make the mistake of buying one and then I don't like it. I bought this from the Natural Collection stand for £1.99 in the shade warm and I absolutely love it. I don't think I will even change from this brand. This is perfect for days which are warm and they are making me feel a tad oily-ish, dabbing this over my make up just sets it perfectly.
12. Soap & Glory Hand Maid Antibacterial Gel
This is a must have while camping. Actually, this is a must have in my hand bag every day just in case. I love the smell of this and it doesn't overly dry my hands out. It is great as well for when my nieces and nephews need there hands freshened up while out on bike rides and after coming from the toilet block after washing their hands.
13. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24Hr
My go to foundation. I don't wear this during the day camping because it would just be too much. We tend to go down to the town one of the nights, take a break from the BBQ and head for a nice meal to Maginn's in Castlewellan. It is so handy as we can literally take a little walk and we are out of the forest park and at the restaurant. I take a small dramming bottle from our counter to carry it. If you ever need a sample or a little dramming of foundation to take on your travels, most BA's are so helpful and will have no problem helping you out.
14. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer
I absolutely love this bronzer. The size of it is just out of this world and I was a bit shocked at the price but when I really thought about it and worked it out it was well worth it. I bought this when it cost £30 for 21g. At that time I was using the Urban Decay bronzer which cost £20 for 7g. From February to now, I use this nearly every day and there isn't even the slightest bit of wear and tear in the bronzer. It is big, but very lightweight and the mirror is great for doing my make up. Sorted!
Do you have any essentials you take camping with you, or do you go camping?
